There is no rulebook for raising a family and sometimes it can seem overwhelming, particularly if your family is going through difficult times.

If you have PCD and have children it is important that you look after your own health in order to look after your children. It is important that you continue to do your physiotherapy. If you are finding it difficult to do this then talk to your physiotherapist who may be able to teach you new techniques which fit in better with your circumstances.

There are a number of people that can help out if you need extra support. For children under 5 every family has a health visitor.

They work closely with the GP and also others such as Social Workers, Speech Therapists, School and District Nurses in all aspects of looking after small children. You can access your health visitor through your GP’s surgery.

Alternatively Home Start can help you if you need additional support with looking after young children.
